Hok entered the small pub, a quick servey revealed the pub's commonroom to be in awful shape. The floor was covered in dust and spilt ale, the tables had dagger gashes in them, one still had the dagger sticking out of it!
Hok wandered up to the counter and took a seat on one of the high stools, only his head and shoulders sticking up above the countertop. 'Blast, this pub is made for humans, not dwarfs,' he thought as he eyed the people around him. The smelly bartender was distributing dirty glares throughout the room, he even had one for Hok.
"Bartender," Hok said after awhile of sitting quietly, "how much is a drink?"
"Four silver," he grumbled, muttering "shorty," quickly after, obviously he thought noone could hear him.
"Nevermind," Hok said glumly, sticking his gloved hand into his coinless pouch. He looked at the sour looks on the faces of those already drinking an ale and considered himself lucky that he couldn't afford a rotten ale.

Enar looked into the smelly little pub and sneered. 'What a smelly, worthless dump,' he thought as he entered. He caught sight of a dwarf sitting at the counter and grinned, not pleasantly either. 'So, the little bugger thinks he can hunt me down, well, he's found me.'
Enar walked over and took a seat at the counter next to Hok. "Well, hello," he said as he shood the bartender away. With a grin he tightened his grip on his quarterstaff and prepared for a confrontation.

Hok spun around and looked at the tall elf sitting next to him.
"YOU!" he shouted, jumping off of his stool and hefting his axe from his belt. Other patrons jumped away, some began to chant "Fight, fight," while still others were heading for the door.
Hok didn't hesitate and began swinging his axe wildly at Enar, hoping desperatly that he would hit.

Enar jumped back to avoid being chopped in half. He swung precisly with his quarterstaff and struck at the dwarf's head. He missed and held out his hand, acid immediatly flew from it and landed with a hiss on the dwarf's vest.
Hok leaped back as acid sprayed on his vest and burnt a hole through it. Enar charged and swung again with his quarterstaff, but Hok deflected the blow with his axe and swung again to strike at Enar.
Enar narrowly dodged having his leg hacked off as he reached out his hand. Two small rocks floated into the air and flew from one end of the room to Hok's head. One struck his helmet and the other landed harmlessly to one side. The pub was now empty, as the patrons didn't want to be anywhere that magic was being used.
Hok staggered as a rock struck his head. He lept forward and hacked wildly at Enar. His axe cut into Enar's coat and he hissed as he clapped his hands together.
Enar clapped his hands together and a loud racket came from the direction of the street, like the sound of guards charging in. Hok's face paled visbly and he sneered at Enar as he turned to leave.
Hok fled as he could hear guards pouring into the little pub, he ran out the back door and into an alley, which led to the street out front, but when he got there, there were no guards. Confused, he turned and ran down the street.

Enar chuckled to himself as he walked out the front door, brushing his torn coatsleeve. 'How dare that dwarf cut my good coat,' he thought as he leaned againts the front of the pub.
A loud cry rang through the street and Enar looked to the darkening sky. An eagle, just barely visible, even to his elf vision, was circling overhead. He smiled and let out a low whistle and the large bird dove down.
Chaos came in and landed on Enar's torn coatsleeve, his talons adding to the gashes left by Hok's axe. The eagle looked in the direction it had come, the Tarn forest, and quickly lifted into the air again.
'Another restless night of traveling,' Enar thought sourly as he ran down the street after Chaos. 'Well, at least Chaos found him, finally I can finish my mission and go on living a little more chaoticly.' He ran on down the street and into the darkness of the night.

Hok stepped caustionsly into the pub, not sure what he would find. He had hoped that the guards would have gone by now and he could see if Enar was still around. In the pub, however, there were no gaurds, very few patrons, all drunk, and the bartender.
He slowly went in, his boots splashing through puddles of spilt ale from the fleeing patrons earlier. 'I had hoped that worthless pile of cowardly scum would still be around,' Hok thought to himself as he fingered the charred spot on his leather vest. "When I see him again," he muttered to himself, "I'll kill him for killing my father, and no gaurd is going to stop me." He finished with a scream, but only the bartender was looking at him, eyeing him wearily.
He spat into the puddles of ale and left the pub stroking the handle of his axe. 'Next time, you won't get away so easily.'
